Ballydub is finally getting the hang of chasing, he was only defied by RSA Chase fancy Heathcliff at Ludlow last time, and he was conceding weight. Paddy Brennan gets the leg up on the wonderful Mister McGoldrick and after the heartwarming success of Monet’s Garden wouldn’t it be wonderful if the old boy could oblige. The big danger for me would be Chief Dan George he looks different class to these if on song, they run in Doncaster’s 3.40pm.
Slew Charm is an intriguing runner in Doncaster’s 4.15pm he won’t be far away.
Yesterday I attended the British Horseracing Authority Conference in London near Westminster and came away disappointed. As there were no big changes, nothing to galvanise the sport, nothing to have thousands clicking on the turnstiles, I know there is the week of free entry but exactly what else – well purely zilch. There were murmurings of radical changes change of dates for the flat and jumps seasons, nothing, though, set in stone. Let’s hope the current fixture list goes in the shredder and a new one can be created. Racing For Change needs a quick win.
The Phoenix Open starts tomorrow in TPC Scottsdale, Arizona and in JB Holmes a previous winner in 2008 and 2006 and Kevin Na a regular top ten finisher at the event are obvious selection and as Jeremy Chapman the golf tipping legend flags them up it is hard to seem them out of the frame. However as massive outsiders I like Charlie Hoffman and Aaron Baddeley
