Nicky Henderson bounced back to form after a little glitch last Saturday, with a couple of winners at Ffos Las yesterday, I was particularly impressed with Lifestyle, she was simply superb and her acceleration took your breath away, certainly one for the notebook!
Henderson and Geraghty should open their winner account with Master Of The Hall, who was thought good enough to deserve an entry in the Tolworth Hurdle. Proven in a tough battle on heavy going, Newbury’s soft won’t be too inconvenient. Gold Award is their other major chance, a winner at Ffos Las only 12 days ago, which might count against him as he is said to need time between races, yet the only dangers appear to be Alfie Spinner and Special Occasion.
Far More Serious would have been a major contender for tomorrow’s Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster, however connects have opted for Newbury’s 3.50pm once again a Nick Williams runner poses the biggest danger.
There is a great card at Doncaster this afternoon ahead of tomorrow’s Sky Bet Chase. I have always been a fan of Spring Jim, but am intrigued to see James Fanshawe saddle two in Doncaster’s 1.55pm.
Fingers crossed the frost doesn’t come tomorrow to ruin the day and scupper Cheltenham, the covers are down so let’s hope the temperatures are up.
