Libranno all the way for Hughes
Richard Hannon picked up another big juvenile prize when Libranno pinged out of the stalls and made all the running under Richard Hughes to take the Tanqueray Richmond Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
Enjoying his sixth success of the week, Hughes had to wake up the youngster inside the final furlong to score by one and a quarter lengths from The Paddyman in the Group Two contest.
The latter had been well-backed at 4-1 and looked menacing with two furlongs remaining, but Libranno found plenty in front, to the delight of the packed grandstands, returning as a warm 5-4 favourite.

Sea waves goodbye to rivals
Mark Johnston's Sea Lord continued his superb run of form with a typically game front-running performance in the totesport Mile at Glorious Goodwood.
Sent off at 6-1 following lucrative handicap successes at the Curragh and Newmarket, the three-year-old got away well under Royston Ffrench and soon tacked across to the rail.
The challengers were queuing up in the straight and Sea Lord looked at the mercy of Invisible Man and a confident Frankie Dettori approaching the final furlong, but he answered every call to pass the post three-quarters of a length ahead.

Red is Glorious result for Hills
The Barry Hills-trained Redwood swooped late to take top honours in the Coutts Glorious Stakes (Group Three) at Goodwood.
Sent off at 7-1 having filled the runner-up spot in the Princess Of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket's July meeting, the four-year-old was settled at the rear of the field by the trainer's son, Michael.
While favourite Duncan came under pressure early in the straight before meeting interference, Redwood and Sri Putra moved up stylishly and it was the former who got the better of a tussle in the final furlong to score by a length and a half.

Joseph leads Dandy 1-2
Joseph Henry led home a Dandy Nicholls one-two in the Rolf Group Stewards' Sprint Handicap at Glorious Goodwood.
Prominent throughout, the 28-1 shot scorched down the centre of the course and battled it out with stablemate and joint-favourite Victoire De Lyphar throughout the final furlong, eventually prevailing by a head under David Probert.
The 27-strong field initially split into three groups but ended up coming together for the final two furlongs, with Wildcat Wizard and Tiddliwinks staying on to fill the places, squashing any worries over draw preference.

Dascombe throws Mudball at prize
Tom Dascombe has two fancied contenders in the Bluesq.com Stewards' Cup at Glorious Goodwood tomorrow.
The Cheshire-based handler has convincing Newcastle winner Jonny Mudball and Noverre To Go, who was a creditable seventh in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot.
"Jonny Mudball won really well last time at Newcastle, but unfortunately the handicapper has seen fit to put him up 9lb, which is a bit excessive to be honest," said Dascombe.

Queally bullish about Midday
Tom Queally insists he would not swap Midday for any of her rivals when she bids to secure back-to-back successes in the Blue Square Nassau Stakes at Goodwood.
Henry Cecil's four-year-old was an impressive winner of the Group One contest 12 months ago but in much softer conditions than those she will encounter on Saturday. She was a fine second to old foe Sariska on her return at York and while Queally has been impressed by her subsequent homework, he has the utmost respect for her rivals.
"The French fillies, Stacelita and Rosanara, pose a threat. Stacelita was seventh in the Arc last year and won a Group Three last time, while Rosanara was second in the French Oaks. I think Luca's (Cumani) filly Contredanse, who won the Italian Oaks, is also worth keeping an eye on," the jockey said on his Racing UK blog.

Strawberry team sweet on chances
Connections of Strawberrydaiquiri are hoping the step up to 10 furlongs for the first time will help her put up a bold show in the Blue Square Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood tomorrow.
Sir Michael Stoute's four-year-old has raced almost exclusively at a mile and finished fourth on both her previous starts at Group One level, including behind Music Show in the Falmouth Stakes last time out.
"It's a highly competitive race, as it should be for a famous race like this. She came out of her Newmarket run very well and Sir Michael seems pleased with her," said Gary Coffey, racing manager to owner Renata Jacobs.

Goldi primed for Deauville
Freddie Head's wonder mare Goldikova will face seven rivals as she bids to win the Prix Rothschild at Deauville for the third year in succession on Sunday.
The five-year-old secured a remarkable ninth Group One victory in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot and is certain to go off a hot favourite.
Mick Channon takes her on with Music Show, who is already a Group One winner, having taken the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket last time.

Aquarius racing career over
Age Of Aquarius is set for a career as a stallion after breaking down in the Artemis Goodwood Cup.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained stayer, runner-up in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot on his previous start, went wrong with around half a mile to run when in the lead and was taken to Arundel Equine Hospital.
Subsequent X-rays revealed he had sustained ruptured ligaments below the fetlock of his off-fore, but he is now back in Ireland to continue his recovery and although his racing days are over, the son of Galileo can be saved for stud.

Border out for rest of season
Borderlescott will not run again this season after being injured when winning the Audi King George Stakes at Goodwood on Thursday.
It means the eight-year-old will be unable to bid for a hat-trick of victories in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York next month.
He is to remain at Arundel Veterinary Centre to undergo a bone scan next week.
